Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management
The health care management field is constantly changing, and the standards are very
demanding. This certificate program will allow graduate students the opportunity
to gain new insight into health care management and demonstrate to the community
that they have the additional knowledge and skills required for a fully qualified
health care management professional. Also, those who possess a graduate degree will
have the 18 graduate hours required to teach health care management at the undergraduate
level.
The program combines a rich mix of traditional coursework and the most current information
and best practices in healthcare administration. Students are provided with an opportunity
to learn from highly educated professors and highly credentialed practitioners currently
working in the field of management and healthcare administration.
Admissions Requirements and Applying
- The first requirement the Graduate Admissions Committee looks for is if you have
obtained a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college/university, and
earned a 3.0 GPA or higher the last 60 units of your undergraduate degree.
- The GMAT requirement is waived for students whose last 60 credit hours of their
GPA are a 3.0 or above. Students with a GPA of below a 2.75 are required to complete
the GMAT requirement.
Courses
Students take the following courses during the Graduate Certificate in Health Care
Management: Health Care Organization/Managed Care; Community Health Evaluation/Epidemiology;
Critical Issues in Health Care; Health Care Management; Consumer Health Care; and
Health Policy Evaluation.
