Saint Leo University recognizes transfer credit only from regionally accredited degree granting institutions. Some colleges, junior colleges, and technical schools may have national accreditation, but Saint Leo solely accepts regional accreditation as listed in the American Council on Education's Accredited Institutions of Postsecondary Education.
It is important before applying that students are aware of the accreditation of the post secondary educational institutions they attended.
Credits from the Associate of Arts degrees do not transfer the same as credits from Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degrees.
If you have an Associate of Arts degree from a regionally accredited institution you may transfer as many as 64 credits. And, you are required to transfer or complete the following before graduation:
- Two Religion Courses (One of which must be taken at Saint Leo)

- One Survey Literature Course
- One Course in History, Economics or Political Science
